In this month's edition of the EuroRAP newsletter, Safer Roads Save Lives, we take a look at the exceptional work undertaken in the last two years by EuroRAP in the ongoing effort to save lives on the road.
Since our last newsletter in July, the pace of EuroRAP's development has quickened yet again. Our programme for the next three
years will take us from measurement to action.
In this issue you will see how rapidly our programme is developing in Europe an around the world. Road assessment results have
been published in Sweden, the UK and the Netherlands over the last few weeks, development work continues on iRAP and the FIA Foundation has commenced its
global campaign to bring road safety to the attention of the G8.
This issue of our newsletter focuses on how EuroRAP's risk-rate maps and star-rating system can help individual motorists
understand where the higher risks lie when planning their journey.
This month focuses on the circumstances in which people lose their lives on Europe's roads. Most people die outside built-up
areas, most commonly on main single carriageway roads. Our challenge is to raise awareness of how people lose their lives in road accidents.
In the last decade alone, half a million Europeans have been killed on our roads. our campaign is committed to exposing the truth
behind the road death toll. Together, we can make a difference. So, please support the campaign and tell us how we can help you get the message across to
the people that matter.
