AIRSO 50th Anniversary Road Safety Award

AIRSO, a UK charity and independent membership organisation of road safety officers in the UK, has made its 50th anniversary awards, recognising the achievements of individuals and⁄or organisations having made a significant and lasting impact on road safety.  They include Dr Steve Lawson who provides technical support to the European and International Road Assessment Programmes and the Road Safety Foundation.

Steve Lawson’s work over 35 years includes research to reduce single-vehicle crashes, accidents involving young pedestrians, work on traffic cameras and red-light running, and support for development of the protocols used by EuroRAP and iRAP.

The awards were made in Oxford on 14 January 2015 by the Queen’s representative in the county, Tim Stevenson OBE, HM Lord Lieutenant for Oxfordshire.
