Siim Kallas, Vice-President of the European Commission responsible for Road Safety has again expressed his support for the work done by EuroRAP Members.Following a request from the Commission to support European Road Safety Day in Athens on 9 May 2014, EuroRAP enabled an exhibition by SENSOR team lead partner Make Roads Safe Hellas. The Commission’s event was centred around the theme ‘Safe and Smart Infrastructure’. Greece currently holds the EU Presidency and Michalis Papadopoulos, Greek Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, Transport and Networks made an address.
Siim Kallas has previously provided welcoming forewords for two major EuroRAP reports, How Safe Are You on Europe’s Trade Routes? and the European Road Safety Atlas. He repeated his welcome of the work done by EuroRAP Members during a special visit to the EuroRAP/SENSOR stand with Szabolcs Schmidt, Head of Road Safety Unit.
