Save Lives: #SlowDown is the hard-hitting message behind a new website which was launched today to support the Fourth United Nations Global Road Safety Week which runs from 8-14 May 2017.
The website has dramatic footage of the dangers that all members of the community – children especially – face as a result of speeding traffic. It describes how reducing traffic speed can dramatically cut the number of road fatalities and the severity of injuries. It also includes inspirational examples of how campaigners around the world are leading on initiatives to reduce speed, particularly around school zones.
The site invites drivers to take a pledge to #SlowDown and to encourage their friends and families to get involved. A wide range of resources is hosted on the site.
Save Lives: #SlowDown is a great opportunity to promote the 3-star or better roads message and includes links to iRAP’s 3-Star or better web pages and iRAP’s Star Rating Demonstrator.
