In March, we reported that for the first time, a road engineer from Russia, representing GLONASS BDD, has appeared on the list of 156 iRAP accredited suppliers from around the world (details HERE). Now, iRAP has presented also at Kazan Digital Week in Russia.
The Capital of the Republic of Tatarstan hosted the International Forum Kazan Digital Week 2021 from 21-24 of September. The event was aimed at developers and users of digital intelligent technologies, systems, and services and targeted heads of ministries, departments, leading public and private companies that are developing spheres of digitalization of public administration, economy, and the social sector. The thematic areas of the event focused on intelligent transport systems, digital technologies in healthcare, medicine, education and culture, new era cyber security, and innovations for business and industry.
iRAP Global Programme Director Greg Smith presented on the importance of safe road infrastructure, alongside other road safety presentations on driver licensing, speed management, legislation, road safety assessment, and tools. Together with the representatives of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs State Traffic Safety Inspectorate and local partners, they explored intelligent transport systems and traffic safety technologies to advance road safety in Tatarstan, Russia.
In Russia to date, 1,250km have been star rated and USD$25 million of infrastructure investment has been made safer informed by the iRAP methodology.
