Road safety in the Western Balkans was under the spotlight when more than 120 delegates attended the 3rd Transport Research and Knowledge Transfer in Road Safety Conference in Pristina, Kosovo* in January.
Organised by the Tempulli College of Technical Applied Sciences and motoring organisation AMRKS, the conference explored how best practices in transport and road safety can help countries in the West Balkans to integrate into the Europe Union.
EuroRAP’s partnerships and research director, Steve Lawson, and senior project manager, Olivera Djordjevic, were among the keynote speakers at the event, which brought together local, regional and European Institutions who deal with transport and road safety issues.
Olivera Djordjevic said: “Meetings of this kind help us share the success of the SENSoR study, build partnerships, see local networks at first-hand and examine how we may extend the work that we do in this region.”
The conference was supported by Sapienza University of Rome, the International Road Transport Academy, the European Transport Safety Council, and locally-based insurance and road safety bodies.
