Can you imagine a day in Europe without a single road death?
That’s the ambitious aspiration of Project EDWARD – European day without a road death – which is scheduled for 21 September, during Mobility Week (16-22 September).
EDWARD is run by the European Commission’s Directorate General for Mobility and Transport working with TISPOL, Europe’s traffic police network.
In the run up to EDWARD, public and private entities across Europe will be working hard to promote road safety awareness among schools and companies. The objective of EDWARD is to reduce the number of road fatalities and serious injuries to an aspirational zero on that day.
Project EDWARD’s organisers are challenging everyone – governments, road safety organisations and individuals – to pledge to do everything they can to support this exciting initiative.
If we are going to meet the challenge of reducing deaths and serious injuries on Europe’s roads by 2020 we need ambitious initiatives like EDWARD to help us get there.
EuroRAP is urging all its employees, members and supporters to sign the pledge – sign here today and help to make a difference!
